How does Faith serve the needs of our seniors?
Seniors serve a crucial role in encouraging upcoming generations for the Kingdom while also facing unique challenges in life. Several opportunities for engaging in the life of Faith as well as services offered to our seniors are listed below for your consideration.
Gathering for weekly worship to be reminded again of our Savior's work is the main event in the life of Faith Presbyterian Church. Sunday morning worship begins at 10:45 a.m. Hearing devices are available for those in need. An evening communion service is offered in the months of February, April, June, August and December. Transportation to and from our services can be provided if needed.
For more information about service times and dates please contact the Church Office at (601) 833-0081.
Sunday School - 9:30 a.m.
Sunday School is an opportunity for you to grow in your understanding of the Bible and how to live life as a follower of Jesus. Sunday School classes for senior women and senior men are available.
Saturday Service is a monthly service from April through September which is organized by Faith's Helping Hands Team. We seek to serve the needs of senior saints, widows and single moms. If you need grass cut, leaves raked, minor repairs, errands run, etc. please contact the church office at (601) 833-0081.
Much of Faith's shepherding care takes place in the context of small groups. Whether it is in seeking answers to life's questions, a Bible or book study, needing prayer support and encouragement, our small groups serve to equip and encourage you in your walk with Christ.
Fellowships & Trips
Because relationships are vital to the body of Christ, fellowship opportunities and trips for our 'senior saints' are an important part of the life of Faith. Each year the Helping Hands Team organizes a Christmas Dinner (followed by a tour of Brookhaven's Christmas lights!), a Valentine's Banquet as well as concerts at the local community college or an evening 'road trip' for supper.
Dates for upcoming events will be posted as plans are made.
Meals on Wednesdays
During the school year when Wednesday night suppers are prepared for the church family, 'to go' plates are provided by our kitchen crew and delivered by our deacons to seniors who request them. To request a meal please contact the church office at (601) 833-0081.
